We are commonly asked how we make money by providing this service, well our revenue stems from our partnership with hotels, sightseeing providers, cruses, airlines etc.  Based on the volume of people we send to them, airlines will offer us the best deals that may be hard to beat by looking online or even on the airlines own websites.   Unlike a traditional travel agency, we do not charge you a fee, because our relationships give us buying power and it's these savings we pass on to you. 
 

ABOUT MANDY MATHIS, THE FOUNDER AND CEO

 

1987 to 1999 - Thomas Cook Travel, Adelaide, Australia
Mandy sold the world to Australians' in her first years 10+ years in Travel, she traveled the globe experiencing places such as Asia, Europe, Africa, USA, Caribbean, UK, Canada and all over her homeland of Australia.  Mandy started her career as a travel agent, worked her way through the ranks to be a senior agent in a very short time.  Mandy also was co-responsible for opening new offices in her surrounding areas including fit-out, design and operations.  During her time at Thomas Cook Mandy won numerous awards and trips but her most personal was her Australia wide recognition for exceptional performance.  She worked for Thomas Cook Travel until she left to relocate to the USA in 1999. 

1999 to 2001 - Today's Traveler, Redmond WA
Mandy relocated to the USA and was appointed Travel Manager at Today's Traveler in Redmond.  Here Mandy sold the world to American's travelling abroad.  It is here that she started specializing in Australia and New Zealand.  I fell in love with this area and the American lifestyle. It is amazing the amount of times I have heard, I want to go to Australia or I want to go to New Zealand and realiziing this I really wanted to strive to specialize in travel to my homeland of Australia our neighbor New Zealand. 
 
2001 to 2003 - ANZCRO Pacifica, Seattle WA
Mandy took up the position of General Manager of ANZCRO Pacifica, this is a wholesale company that specializes in travel to New Zealand.  During her employment here she introduced Australia as a product destination as well as Fiji, the Cook Islands and Tahiti.  She sadly had to resign from ANZCRO Pacifica to move to the East Coast (Washington DC region with her husband's work).

2003 to Present - Downunder Journeys, Reston VA
Sending Americans to Australia and New Zealand ever since... Mandy also contracted back to ANZCRO Pacifica in a Management Role during the 2009/2010 year and has since acquired that business.   Downunder Journeys and ANZCRO Pacifica now have operations on both the East Coast (Reston, VA), and West Coast (Seattle, WA), to assist our customers.
